Senior Governance Advisor

Attractive daily pay rate up to $780/day + Super. Hybrid work (WFH + 1 or 2 days at the Sydney CBD office). 8 hours a day. 40 hours a week. Immediate start! PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
As a part of your role, you will work closely with the Manager in developing and supporting the Governance framework.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Support the development and delivery of the overarching governance support framework. Develop, document and oversee governance programs across the organisation to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of good governance and ethical decision making to support compliance. Ensure the organisation and individual staff undertake their roles and responsibilities according to the Principles of Good Governance and ethical decision making. This includes having general oversight of key internal administration processes such as committee meetings, projects and customer facing services. Create and prepare regular management reports and insights to the Executive Leadership regarding risks, compliance, audit, and corporate legislative responsibilities. Lead the ongoing development, implementation, management and testing of the Business Continuity processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the aim of enhancing governance (including business continuity) knowledge, awareness and culture within the organisation. Perform key controls testing, and design and implement assurance activities that will contribute to organisational objectives. Support the delivery of any other governance initiatives or programs as required. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: A minimum of five years relevant governance, risk, compliance, or audit experience with demonstrated industry experience in managing governance frameworks. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent, desirable. Prior experience working with a government department or supporting a large organisation in enhancing their organisational governance and able to propose tailored ideas to drive the continuous improvement of governance methodologies across the organisation.
