The Opportunity KBR has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Building Services team in Sydney. This is a key role in the business and a great opportunity for someone looking to join a global company and take the next big step in their career. You will be heavily involved in a range of transport, buildings and Defence infrastructure projects focusing on the design of fire service systems.

This role works under general supervision as a technical specialist and performs all conventional aspects of Fire Protection while also devising new approaches to problems encountered. You will have an opportunity to plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Who are you? As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will have experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications including design of wet and dry fire services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prepare and verify designs and calculations (including self-checking) using either manual methods or with the aid of computer programs through both concept and detailed design. Initiation of good relationships with clients (both internal and external) is essential to this role.

You will also have the following skills and experience: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or Diploma of Fire Systems Design (CPC50520) and NSW registered certifier C14 (building hydraulics) certification. Design and document a range of wet and dry fire services systems. Read and interpret Fire Engineering Briefs/Reports. Thorough knowledge of relevant standards and NCC. Knowledge and experience of the project lifecycle. Knowledge of engineering design processes for infrastructure projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Revit MEP is desirable. Ability to work closely with senior and junior engineers.
