In the role of Senior Financial Analyst, you will be part of the Expenditure Monitoring Team within the Budget Office.
Your primary responsibility will be supporting ongoing monitoring of high-risk, high-value, and priority policy projects and programs on an agency-by-agency basis.
You will contribute to the development of the Budget and Budget Update by providing valuable inputs.
This role will allow you to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and work towards achieving world-class service delivery and public sector management.
In this role, you will: Implement a monitoring framework and dashboards.Develop policies for reviewing and approving forward estimate adjustments.Provide oversight for capital programs.Collect data on grants programs.Analyse agency expenditure and advise on trends, growth, and sustainability.Drive initiatives to advance projects and programs.Undertake funding, expenditure, and staffing reviews to improve operational models.Collaborate with Treasury and agency partners for monitoring expenditure and capital analysis.What experience you will bring: Experience interpreting and analysing financial information in relation to services and outcomes delivery.Strong ability to communicate technical financial concepts to various stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High level of interpersonal skills.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.Demonstrated leadership capabilities.Knowledge and understanding of governance and risk management practices.Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
