Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the Saunders International team. The role will be based at Saunders International, HQ, Rhodes, Sydney.
The Senior Financial Accountant position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Financial Accounting function and to ensure month-end close off within the deadline.
THE ROLE ResponsibilitiesEnsure efficient and effective month-end close off.Manage the monthly completion of balance sheet reconciliations for the group.Assist with the half-yearly and year-end statutory audit.Preparation and review of GST and FBT returns.AASB16 lease accounting reconciliation.Maintaining the Fixed asset and CAPEX process.Preparation of daily/weekly cash forecast.Collaborate with other teams in Finance.Manage the Intercompany process.Liaison with external parties including banks, auditors, and ATO.Drive continuous improvement in financial and system processes.ABOUT YOUQualified Accountant (CA/CPA) with strong technical accounting background and a minimum of 5 years' experience in financial accounting, including balance sheet reconciliation.Experience in GST and FBT returns.Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and a methodical approach.Problem-solving skills with a strong track record of critical and analytical thinking.Positive 'can do' attitude, flexible and adaptable.An appetite to develop or change processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the business, with a particular focus on the finance function.Previous experience in leading a small finance team.Excellent communication and listening skills.Strong Microsoft Office skills and accounting software package knowledge.DESIRABLEExperience in Construction or Engineering Industry.Experience using Jobpac ERP.THE BENEFITSAt Saunders, we invest in our people because we believe it makes our team stronger and better equipped to deliver on our promise and values of One Team, Zero Harm, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity, and Respect.
