The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial accounting landscape of the business units.
This role is not just a job; it's a career path filled with development opportunities in a P.
E backed firm, offering close collaboration with the Finance Manager and Financial Controller on strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with financial, tax, and legal responsibilities.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements, while also supporting business decision-making through timely financial insights.
Duties will include, but not be limited to: Extensive experience preparing, reviewing, and reporting financial and tax information, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and maintaining updated financial processes.
Proven ability to enforce internal controls to minimize fraud risk, including regular updates to the Internal Control Framework.
Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce manual tasks, lower costs, and enhance financial data accuracy.
Expertise in preparing monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, along with supporting variance analysis for informed business decisions.
Strong leadership in managing month-end processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and adherence to accounting standards (AASB16).
Experience acting as the finance liaison for property portfolios and supporting statutory financial statements, audits, and cash flow forecasting.
Proven collaboration with external auditors and management of tax submissions (BAS, FBT, ATO reporting).
Experience preparing annual tax return documentation and supporting the Group's tax governance framework.
Ability to coach and mentor finance team members to drive continuous improvement and develop solutions for financial challenges.
Skills and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce, coupled with CA/CPA qualifications.
Big 4 background in Audit or Business Services, with commercial experience, OR Manager level first mover from Big 4.
Strong knowledge of current Australian Accounting Standards.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Knowledge of current accounting standards and practices and taxation laws.
A proven understanding of financial systems.
Demonstrated accuracy in production of reports.
A proven understanding of group consolidation entries and intercompany transactions.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
The ability to be self-motivated and work both autonomously and within a team.
