About our Organisation Sandvik Ground Support Division is one of Australia's largest, leading manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of specialist strata reinforcement and support products to the underground coal and metalliferous mining sectors. Sandvik Ground Support Division also provides galvanising and other related services to the mining, civil, marine, commercial, and industrial industries.
About the Role Based at our Heatherbrae site and reporting to the Head of Finance and Business Control (APAC), the Senior Financial Accountant oversees the accounting functions for the Australian entities. This role ensures transactions comply with Sandvik's Financial Reporting Policies (FRP) and Australian Accounting Standards while meeting all internal and external finance-related compliance requirements. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring Accountants and the broader Finance Team reconcile account balances on a regular basis.Supporting month-end and year-end close processes by analyzing financial information before submission to reporting systems.Collaborating with the Finance Manager and Group Treasury to address treasury requirements.Preparing statutory consolidated financial statements.Assisting in the preparation of financial data for presentation to Department Managers and senior management as needed.About You To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting that satisfies the requirements for professional accounting membership. You should have hands-on experience with accounting software such as Microsoft Navision BC, coupled with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Advanced MS Excel skills, including proficiency in lookups and pivot tables, are essential. Experience in Finance within the manufacturing industry, along with strong commercial and business acumen, is required, and familiarity with Power BI is highly desirable.
