The role is fully remote, and you must be based in the UK.

COMPANY SUMMARY Archangel Accounting is a chartered accountancy practice registered with the ICAEW providing clients with a range of services including fully outsourced finance functions and CFO level support.
The company has a staff of around 20 employees, all of whom work fully remotely.

Our clients are predominantly in the pharmaceutical start up sector with strong relationships with key VC's in the biotech space.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for producing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for 35 plus clients.
Accounts preparation will range from Micro FRS 105 accounts to medium group consolidations.
To perform complex detailed calculations for R&D tax credits and to prepare and file client's corporation tax returns and Advanced Information Forms (AIFs).
To produce schedules for clients requiring year end accounting journals for items such as share based payments, compound instrument calculations, holiday pay accruals etc.
To be our champion on the latest technical knowledge pertaining to statutory accounts, HMRC and Companies House compliance.
Responsible for preparing and filing clients' self-assessment returns.
To assist with EIS and SEIS administration To assist with share option scheme HMRC valuations To assist with other annual filing tasks including share option returns and Company Secretarial work.
To support teams with our clients' audits taking a lead role in ensuring the statutory accounts and tax returns are approved by Directors and filed.
To ensure that all client statutory returns are filed and accepted on time.
To develop key relationships with our clients and have a good understanding of their businesses.
Coaching and development of less experienced finance and accounting colleagues.
Assist the team in all other ad hoc accounting areas.
SPECIFIC SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Essential: Bachelor's degree - 2:1 or above ACA qualification Several years' experience in an accounting practice and managing client work Strong skills and experience with limited company statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and self assessment returns, including a deep understanding of FRS102 and UK tax compliance.
Advanced Excel skills and other Microsoft applications Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to professional development and keeping up with industry changes.
Multi-entity and multi-currency experience.
Experience managing annual audits and working with an external audit function.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Competency in dealing with confidential data and exercising sound judgment.
Desirable: Experience of R&D tax credits and equity and share based payment accounting Experience of working with early-stage pharmaceutical clients and a good understanding of their life cycle.
Experience of TaxCalc - accounting and tax software.
Experience using Xero and XeroTax software.
Knowledge of charity accounts and CLGs.
Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
Power Query, modelling and other advanced excel skills.
