This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with at least 4 years of experience in asset management and financial reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate capitalisation, governance, and reporting of fixed assets while adhering to government policies and statutory requirements. Your expertise will be vital in supporting the integrity of financial systems and collaborating with various stakeholders to maintain high standards of asset management.Key Responsibilities:Asset Management System Oversight: Manage and enhance the asset management system and processes to ensure the accurate and timely recording of fixed assets. Serve as the key point of contact for asset capitalisation issues and queries.Compliance with Accounting Standards: Apply government accounting policies and procedures for the capitalisation of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with Treasury mandates and reporting requirements.Fixed Asset Reviews: Coordinate periodic reviews of fixed assets, including work-in-progress (WIP), and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure strong governance and accuracy in financial reporting.Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal and external stakeholders across all stages of fixed asset reporting to ensure compliance and precision.Capital Project Support: Work with project teams to ensure proper capitalisation of assets, manage depreciation, and align financial statements with statutory reporting and budgeting processes.Asset Capture & Ledger Integrity: Ensure the timely capture of assets and technology components into the fixed asset register, maintaining ledger accuracy and completeness.Annual Stock-Take Coordination: Lead the annual stock-take process, analyze the results, and report findings to support strategic decision-making.Technical Accounting Expertise: Provide technical accounting advice and reporting to ensure the integrity and compliance of financial reporting.Key Challenges:Managing multiple tasks concurrently, requiring effective planning, prioritisation, and meeting strict deadlines.Navigating government financial management policies and staying up-to-date with statutory requirements.Managing peak workloads effectively while ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining high standards of service.About You:To be successful in this role, you will need:CA/CPA qualification (essential).At least 4 years of experience in asset management, financial reporting, or a similar role.Strong knowledge of government accounting procedures, asset capitalisation standards, and reporting requirements.SAP experience is highly desirable.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Work Schedule:This role requires 3 days in the office per week (Tuesday to Thursday), offering a blend of in-office collaboration and flexibility.**Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates strongly encouraged to apply.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Applications received after the due date may be considered for similar roles.
