About the Role The Financial Accounting team plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Tabcorp Group's general ledger and maintaining the Delegation of Authorities. We're now seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join us on a 6-month contract.
As a Senior Accountant, you'll oversee and manage the group's financial accounting operations which includes ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the implementation of robust financial controls. You'll also provide guidance and mentoring across the Financial Accounting team to drive process improvements and collaborate with other finance teams to support the company's strategic financial goals. Specifically, you will:
ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting policies, regulations, and internal controls; review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy; develop and maintain financial accounting policies and oversee internal and external audits (including addressing audit findings); identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation within financial accounting; and mentor team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment within the financial accounting team. About You As a finance leader, you'll have a proven track record of working with senior business leaders in large and complex corporate environments. You'll bring strong financial, analytical, and reporting skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to develop financial strategies that address business challenges or capitalize on opportunities. You'll also possess:
strong communication and stakeholder management skills which enable you to effectively engage, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders; relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance along with certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA); strong experience in financial accounting and audit, and preferably experience in a managerial or supervisory role; strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and proficiency in Oracle or similar ERP systems; and experience working in a shared services environment and helping an organization through change.
