Senior Finance Manager - Retail / Shopping Centre Property

Our client, a large Australian Property Investment and Asset Management business, is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join and lead their Retail Property Finance team, based in the CBD.
The role has a dual reporting line to the Divisional Head of Retail as well as the CFO, managing all financial aspects of a large property unit trust structure, including oversight of a small internal team, as well as external service providers.

Responsibilities: Delivering crucial decision support to the executive leadership team by providing insightful and commercially astute analysis on business performance.Preparation of quarterly management accounts and financial analysis for a range of Real Estate investment structures.Work closely with the fund managers and asset management team, providing financial analysis and support for investment decisions, commercial transactions, and tenancy options.Account for property acquisitions and disposals including the calculation of performance fees due based on performance against benchmark.Opportunity to assist on key acquisitions.Quarterly board reporting.Annual budgeting and business planning process, quarterly variance analysis and commentary on performance against budget.Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and control of the year-end audit process.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including administrators and property managers.
Review monthly information received from property managers, querying any inconsistencies.Providing consultative and proactive financial advice and support to all levels of management on a range of finance functions, budget setting, budget monitoring, budgeting planning, and project support.Reviewing and challenging current budgets to ensure a robust and clear streamlined budget model.Delivering improved management information, including enhanced board packs and weekly reporting.Supporting the broader senior operations team on ad-hoc projects. Requirements: Strong property sector experience.Qualified CA, CPA or equivalent.Strong academic background, including a degree from a top university and strong A levels (or equivalent) essential.Retail/Shopping Centre asset experience would be a distinct advantage but isn't essential.Staff management experience highly desirable.Candidates must have excellent communication skills with demonstrable evidence of providing confident partnering to various non-finance stakeholders.
A positive, confident, and personable manner is essential.
