Job Description As a FinOps Practitioner, you'll play a crucial role in analysing cloud usage and spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing strategies to reduce expenses.
You'll collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and product teams to integrate financial accountability into the software development lifecycle.
You'll assist in developing accurate cloud cost forecasts and budgets, generate insightful reports to track cloud spend and usage trends, and establish and enforce cloud cost governance policies.
Additionally, you'll negotiate with cloud providers to optimise costs, leverage cloud cost management tools to automate monitoring and alerting processes, and provide training and guidance to teams on FinOps principles and cloud cost optimisation strategies.
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong combination of financial acumen and technical knowledge.
You should be passionate about data-driven decision-making and have a knack for problem-solving.
Qualifications Previous experience in cloud financial management or a FinOps-related role Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud cost management tools Familiarity with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent understanding of cloud billing, invoicing, and pricing models Proficiency with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create cloud spend reports and dashboards Knowledge of FinOps principles and best practices, preferably with experience implementing the FinOps Foundation framework and assisting clients to mature capabilities within the framework Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines FinOps Certified Practitioner (required), FinOps FOCUS analyst (preferred) Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, IT, or a related field Additional Information Why join us: NCS Australia is where you can feel at home, nurturing your talents and skills as we make tomorrow together, one day at a time.
