Be on call occasionally, train new staff, assist with problem-solving, and set a positive example of our company values.Operational Duties: Oversee day-to-day operations of a 550-cow farm, managing tasks such as breeding programs including AI, feed management, calf rearing, repairs and maintenance (R&M), and the management of springer, heifer, and dry cows. Schedule and coordinate vet and trucking services.KPI Management: Monitor milk production and quality, reproduction and animal health, and pasture and feed management including the use of irrigation. Ensure facility cleanliness standards are met consistently.Administrative Tasks: Maintain safe food quality, keep accurate records, and handle orders.Springer & Fresh Cow Management: Manage springer & fresh cow protocols, including monitoring health & calvings, production, and organizing vaccinations and vet schedules.What You Bring: With 3-5 years of dairy farm experience, you have a solid understanding of daily operations and best practices. You excel in cow management and herd health, ensuring the animals are well cared for. Your AI qualification enables you to effectively contribute to breeding programs, while your skills in pasture management optimize feed for the herd.
Delegation: You are brilliant at delegating, fostering team spirit by making each member feel valued.Problem-Solving: You bring solutions rather than problems, taking ownership of tasks with a hands-on approach.Organisational Skills: Your organizational abilities shine in your weekly planning, allowing you to prioritize tasks effectively.Attention to Detail: You maintain high standards in all tasks, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in daily operations.About Our Area: We are located on the river, allowing for various water sport activities. We are close to local primary schools & high schools, with private school options nearby. With Nowra only being a 10 min drive away, you will have access to major retail chains & services.
