Utilise your expertise as a Family Violence Worker to provide support and advice to the Victim Services Support and Reform branchA Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service until 30th June 2025About the Business Unit: Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is a part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination Division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for coordinating a suite of services for victims of crime, including an information, support and referral service for all victims of reported and unreported crimes through the Victims of Crime Helpline (Helpline), as well as funding state-wide services to provide eligible victims with flexible case management services to meet the practical, emotional and psychological needs of victims to help manage the effects of crime.
About the Role: The Senior Family Violence Practice Lead (SFVPL) will work within the Helpline to provide expert advice, case management, and leadership in responding to family violence referrals.
Some of your duties will include:
Providing expert advice on family violence matters to internal teams, partner agencies, and stakeholdersBuilding and maintaining strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including community service organisations, government bodies, and VAP (Victim Assistance Program) funded agenciesProviding leadership in developing family violence response capacity within the team, including delivering training, mentoring, and professional development to staff, with a focus on FVISS (Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme) and CISS (Child Information Sharing Scheme).About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
At least five (5) years of paid practice experience in the family violence sector or a specialist family violence serviceA wealth of experience working with male victims of family violence is preferred but not essentialExtensive experience in managing FVISS (Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme) and CISS (Child Information Sharing Scheme) activities.Qualifications/Requirements: Mandatory Qualifications - these are essential to the role and typically required for consideration:
Family violence training: Completion of the MARAM Framework, FVISS, and CISS training, with expertise in risk assessment and predominant aggressor identification.Desirable Qualifications - these are additional qualifications that would enhance a candidate's suitability but are not strictly required:
Postgraduate qualifications in family violence, trauma-informed practice, or victim supportCultural competence and victim support training: Training in cultural competence and frameworks for supporting diverse communities (e.g., First Nations, CALD, LGBTQIA+)Additional certifications: Mediation or conflict resolution trainingExperience with case management systems: Familiarity with case management software and reporting tools.How to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include reference checks, national police checks and misconduct screening.
