We are committed to fostering a workplace culture where everyone is heard and has the opportunity to thrive.If you're passionate about helping families navigate legal complexities with care and expertise, and you're looking for a firm that values innovation, mentorship, and community, we'd love to hear from you.About the RoleWe are currently looking for a seasoned family lawyer who is outgoing, confident, and experienced to join our practice.This is a great opportunity if you are looking to further your career in a happy environment whilst providing expert legal advice and representation to our diverse client base.You will manage a broad spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, property division, spousal support, and more. We invest a lot of effort in assisting clients through this difficult process and aim to provide the best resolution possible - either through an amicable resolution or litigation.You will have the opportunity to work both autonomously and as part of a team, mentoring and supporting junior lawyers to help them with their own career progression.Our collaborative work culture and supportive atmosphere empower individuals to thrive. We value resilience, resourcefulness, and determination in our candidates, as these qualities are essential for navigating the complexities of family law.If you are looking to contribute to a dynamic team while achieving personal and professional growth, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:Manage and oversee a diverse caseload of family law matters, from inception to resolution.Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.Conduct legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, agreements, and court submissions.Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations.Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.Maintain strong relationships with clients through clear communication, empathy, and understanding.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school.Active practicing certificate in Victoria.Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law.Strong analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with attention to detail.Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team.Genuine interest in family law and building professional relationships with clients.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.Added experience considered favourable:Commercial Law experience such as commercial drafting of contracts, lease reviews, and general commercial litigation.MLS is a great place to work.
