What this opportunity involves :
This is a rare opportunity to join a large, enthusiastic, and dynamic team in the provision of global property services to a highly recognizable and well-regarded Australian Government Department.
JLL is the global property service provider for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). DFAT has around 100 Missions in approximately 80 countries. The portfolio comprises approximately 1,000 properties (both owned and leased) and includes Chanceries/Embassies and Residential properties.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Lead (Canberra Based), the Senior Regional Facilities Manager (SFM) will be based at the Australian Embassy in Amman, Jordan and will have the overall responsibility to manage the day-to-day activities for this and other assigned sites. You will be managing remote sites and will have responsibility for staff in Riyadh and Islamabad, as well as in Amman.
You will be the on-site key point of contact for client staff and key stakeholders, including tenants. As the SFM, you will have overall responsibility for managing comprehensive engineering and facilities management services, staff, contractors, equipment, and supplies as required under the Contract.
The position will require proactive management, engagement, and communication with DFAT and stakeholders to ensure Facilities and Property Management services do not impact operations, site visitations, and events.
An overview of the role: Stakeholder management – locally engaged staff, JLL, DFAT, and third parties People management (assigned JLL staff and on-site third-party contractors), including performance, teamwork, training, and development Risk management, including incident and business continuity and assurance of 24/7 emergency response support and site attendance as and when required Property inspections and monitoring of remote site activities Asset management planning Quality assurance Engineering protocol and audit Procurement & contractor management Maintenance and technical facilities operations Minor works project management Budgeting and financial management Health & safety management Ideal Experience and Personal Characteristics Formal education in facilities management, building, business, and demonstrated extensive industry experience Experience or demonstrated capability to work in a complex environment along with the management of remote sites Detailed understanding of technical aspects of property (may include Computer Room Air-conditioning, Chiller system, Fire Protection system, Mechanical & Electrical system, BMS system, Access control systems) Knowledge of and experience in managing critical infrastructure, systems, and environments Client Focus & Relationship Management Capacity to interpret and proactively manage commercial contracts Strong budget management and financial analysis skills Ability to gain and retain a relevant Security Clearance Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work well under pressure Problem-solving skills – capacity to deal with ambiguity and solve complex problems effectively Strong communicator – good presentation skills and possesses strong verbal and written communication skills (English) Flexible – able to adapt to rapidly changing situations Self-motivated, confident, and energetic Location: On-site – Canberra, ACT
