About the role

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the SECM will lead Standards Australia's external communications function.
You will manage a pipeline of initiatives and campaigns and lead a small team.
You will work collaboratively with the broader CMO and comms teams and other business units to ensure a coherent presence in the market for SA.

What you'll do

Manage SA's brand presence, corporate image and media presence proactively and reactively

Develop, implement and measure SA's external communications strategies and campaigns in traditional and digital environments

Build and maintain relationships with media, partners and collaborators to ensure our stories are known and our brand and reputation are managed successfully

Engage and work collaboratively with other business units

Mentor, manage, coach, develop and lead the communications team

Take hands-on responsibility for project delivery

Develop and implement strategies for increasing the profile, reputation and brand recognition of SA

Proactively build a pipeline of opportunities for SA in both traditional and digital media

Manage a corporate communications calendar of opportunities

Report back on the success and return on investment of communication activities and channel usage metrics

About you

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of ten plus years' experience with the ability to hit the ground running

Proven expertise in crisis communication and skilled in storytelling within a technical or complex environment

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Expertise in crafting corporate narratives and strategic thinking

Demonstrated experience in building and leading a high-performance team culture

Experienced in developing, implementing and evaluating communication plans and campaigns
