Leading environmental consultancy that provides professional contaminated site assessment Your new company Our client is a leading environmental consultancy that provides professional contaminated site assessment and management advice to its clients. They are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join their team. Your new role As a Senior Environmental Scientist, your primary duties will include: You need to have a CEnvP certification in Site Contamination Designing, implementing, and completing field soil, sediment, and contaminated site sampling programs, which may involve intrastate travel. Supervising and instructing field and professional staff on soil and groundwater sampling programs, including direct supervision where required. Accompanying field staff and drilling rigs on field investigation programs, assisting with sampling, testing, and collection of field data as required. Liaising with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other professionals via email, phone, and in person. Designing, preparing, and supervising specialist testing programs by third-party laboratories, including quality control. Maintaining adequate records of all work performed, billing information for clients, laboratory records, sampling programs, and any other information relevant to the conduct of the business day-to-day. Reporting technical and scientific results of field and laboratory investigations for contaminated site assessment and management to clients and regulatory bodies such as local councils and EPA. Undertaking compliance inspections and validation sampling for council and EPA certification as required. Attending professional development courses, conferences, and training as required to maintain CPD hours. What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong background in environmental science, particularly in the area of contaminated site assessment and management. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders including clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other professionals.
