Senior Environmental Health Officer

We are looking for a suitably qualified Senior Environmental Health Officer to join the team. You will be responsible for assisting the Coordinator Environmental Health Services in the delivery of public and environmental health programs in the community to ensure that Council's statutory obligations are satisfactorily met.The successful applicant will have:Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and public health legislation and standards.Competent assessment of food premises, environmental pollutants, nuisances, wastewater treatment installations, and other relevant areas to environmental and public health.Experience in managing staff.Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional reports and make authoritative verbal presentations.Qualifications required:Bachelor of Health Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications to the satisfaction of the Tasmanian Director of Public Health and a minimum of three years' experience as an Environmental Health Officer.Position Hours: Full-Time, 75 hours fortnight.Salary range: $92,195.11 to $103,763.47 plus superannuation.How to apply: Applications for this position must be lodged on this site or on the Glenorchy City Council website www.gcc.tas.gov.au - Careers page.To be considered for this role, all applicants must:Address the key selection criteria in the Position Description.A national Police check, health assessment and reference checks will be requested and organised by Council prior to employment.Applications close at 8pm on Sunday, 24 November 2024.
