A leading environmental consultancy firm specialising in sustainable solutions for the mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Approvals / Impact Assessments Consultant to join their team in Sydney, NSW. As a Senior EIA specialist with experience in the mining sector, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing environmental impact assessments for mining projects across Australia.
The position can be based in Sydney, Central Coast, and Newcastle.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate environmental impact assessment processes for mining projects, from inception to completion. Conduct thorough environmental impact studies, including field assessments, data analysis, and stakeholder consultations. Prepare comprehensive EIA reports and environmental management plans in accordance with regulatory requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering their professional development. Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and permits. Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and technologies in the field of environmental management and mining. Qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, with a focus on the mining industry. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering EIA projects within budget and schedule constraints. In-depth knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and guidelines in Australia. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
