The purpose of this newly created position is to assist Council's Principal Strategic Infrastructure Planner with the development, implementation and delivery of long-term stormwater and water quality infrastructure planning strategies, policies and forward works programs, having regard to relevant statutory, policy and financial provisions. Additionally, you will co-ordinate and provide recommendations on stormwater and water quality planning matters, and the impact of proposed development on stormwater and water quality networks and systems, to Council's Development assessment team.
This role will require you to have comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in stormwater and water quality infrastructure planning, strategy, and policy development activities.
You will have well developed oral and written communication skills, and the ability to distil complex and technical information into easy-to-understand formats. Confident ability to write comprehensive reports, present to diverse groups of stakeholders and consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels is also required at this level.
Tertiary qualifications (AQF Level 7) or advanced studies in a relevant engineering discipline is essential as is experience in the planning, project scoping, cost estimation and design of stormwater and water quality infrastructure. Ideally you will have Local Government or consultancy experience in catchment flood studies, flood modelling, risk assessment and water quality efficiency. Experience with re-naturalising projects would be an advantage.
