AGL's Gas and Renewables team has an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join and deliver the provision of discipline-based asset management expertise.
Based in Adelaide, this role provides support to the operation of Gas and Renewables generation assets, providing an opportunity to gain exposure on projects as operational assets are decommissioned, while long-term being involved in AGL's broader renewables team, helping to define the future of energy for Australia.
You will be responsible for the provision of discipline-based asset management expertise, to ensure business unit asset risks are identified and effectively managed. Focused on compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, you will ensure the upkeep of asset plans to maximise performance of Torrens Island based assets to meet AGL's objectives.
This role is site based at Torrens Island, South Australia with occasional travel required.
What you'll be doing: Development and communication of the Business Unit Asset Management Plans and strategies along with proactively working with all stakeholders to deliver timely solutions in optimising plant availability and reliability consistent with the Business Units financial budget. Review asset risk management strategies and implement effective control measures for key risk areas. Ensure asset strategy and asset management plans comply with all AGL and relevant industry and environmental legislation and regulations including maintenance of the Technical Performance Standard compliance requirements. Develop and maintain appropriate links and communication within the energy industry along with assessing new technologies that deliver value to the business. Be responsible for scope and engineering of assigned projects along with developing capital investment strategies to ensure ongoing performance of the assets to meet targets. The ability to train and develop technical staff in order to ensure a competent, industrious technical function that has personal and public safety and environmental protection high on its priorities. Visible leadership to promote, demonstrate and achieve improvements in Health, Safety and Environmental performance while ensuring that all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and goals are introduced and adhered to in alignment to AGL's policies and standards. About You A strong communicator you will be capable of collaborating across a range of stakeholders in providing technical advise and expertise.
What you'll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and experience as a technical leader. Experience with Controls Systems is highly desirable. The ability to provide a strategic outlook and prioritise activities whilst dealing with changing priorities. A high level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and written. Strong change management principles and experience working in a dynamic and flexible industry. Strong understanding of Asset Management Principles and experience within large, commercial scale energy generation. Current drivers licence. Applications close October 4.
