This role is on a Permanent Full Time basis.Your new role in action:Drive Strategic Insight: Provide high-level technical advice and in-depth analysis on the evolution of the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM). Identify and quantify opportunities, benefits, and impacts to develop compelling business cases and support project implementation.Champion Regulation & Policy: Represent our interests at key regulatory committees and forums, including Market Advisory Committees and Australian Energy Market Operator-led discussions. Offer senior-level insights on energy governance and legislative reforms, such as integrating distributed energy resources into the WEM.Build Industry Relationships: Forge and nurture strong connections within the industry to advocate for and guide the evolution of the WEM, aligning with our Corporate Strategy.Lead Legislative Development: Collaborate with internal experts to propose and develop amendments to WEM Rules and related regulatory instruments, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.Guide Industry Consultation: Spearhead the business's response to proposed changes to WEM Rules and regulations, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders.Enhance Business Performance: Identify opportunities for performance improvements and innovative ideas, making strategic recommendations to business leaders.What you'll bring:A seasoned professional with extensive knowledge and expertise in the Wholesale Energy Market, combined with professional or academic and/or post graduate qualifications.Extensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and energy market constructs.Extensive experience in engaging on and responding to formal and binding industry consultations which carry significant legal/regulatory implications.Advanced communications, interpersonal, presentations and facilitation skills.Advanced report writing, negotiation and influencing skills.Strong stakeholder engagement and business acumen skills.Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.Passionate and adept at leading, influencing, developing, motivating, and changing behaviour.Our people are our priorityWe are committed to building a diverse workforce and inclusive where all our people are valued and belong.
