This position is central to the Employee Relations Team, which provides collaborative support to help MACS achieve its goals and maintain legislative compliance. The team assists schools with employment issues, enterprise agreements, contracts, salaries, policies, and training for principals and leaders. The Advisor will deliver high-quality, responsive advice on complex employee relations issues for Catholic schools and Principals, contribute to policy development, and manage complex cases.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead and contribute to the development and improvement of employee relations policies relevant to Catholic schoolsProvide senior level support and advice within the employee relations teamMaintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including school employers and principalsProvide an advocacy service in Fair Work Commission and other tribunals as requiredABOUT YOU Extensive professional experience in contemporary employee relations professional practice and legislationStrong interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively at all levels and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholdersExperience in employee relations policy development and advanced policy writing skills, with strong attention to detailSpecific knowledge of industrial relations legislation and knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, workers' compensation and other related legislation and of the terms and conditions of employment applying to school-based teaching and non-teaching staffAbility to manage the resolution of workplace issues and complex tasks with minimal supervision and the capacity to work to tight timelines in a highly complex working environmentHOW TO APPLY Please refer to the position description for further details about the role and the Key Selection Criteria.
