Your Position: Reports to: Project Lead Engineer As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer at Vanderlande, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems for complex BHS and parcel handling systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that electrical designs meet the high standards required for safety, efficiency, and reliability in airport and parcel handling environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation systems that enhance operational efficiency for clients around the globe.
Your Responsibilities: Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for BHS and parcel handling systems, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and safety standards.Collaborate with Low-Level Controls (LLC), High-Level Controls (HLC), and IT teams to integrate electrical systems into larger automation frameworks for airports and parcel distribution centers.Develop and optimize electrical system designs, including layout drawings, single-line diagrams, and cabinet configurations, tailored to the specific needs of airport and parcel handling operations.Manage power consumption, heat dissipation, and voltage drop calculations to ensure system efficiency and reliability.Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including RFQs, equipment lists, and safety design specifications, to ensure that all project stakeholders have clear, actionable information.Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to validate system performance, ensuring compliance with design requirements and operational standards.Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring smooth system integration and addressing any on-site issues.About You: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on Material Handling or Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) in airports or parcel solutions.Expertise in electrical design and industrial controls, with proficiency in CAD software (Eplan, AutoCAD, Navisworks).Strong understanding of electrical system integration within large-scale automation projects, particularly in BHS and parcel handling environments.Willingness to travel internationally for project execution and training.Strong technical and analytical skills, with attention to detail in system design and execution.Leadership qualities, with a focus on delivering high-quality electrical systems within challenging timeframes.A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.Understand and anticipate customer needs related to electrical system performance.Ensure electrical systems meet performance standards through thorough testing (FAT/SAT).Ensure electrical designs comply with safety regulations and technical specifications.What we offer: A competitive remuneration package will be offered to someone who is a team player with a positive, energetic attitude and work ethic as well as the ability to think outside the square.
