Senior Ecologist – Shape the Future of Sustainability with ERM ERM, the world's leading sustainability consultancy, is seeking Senior Ecologists to join our Newcastle or Sydney team. What You'll Do As a Senior Ecologist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting biodiversity impact assessments and approvals under NSW State and Commonwealth jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities include: Preparing ecological impact assessments and management plans that meet federal and state requirements.
Supporting and delivering field surveys, literature reviews, and ecological recommendations for clients.
Crafting compelling proposals, including scopes and cost estimates, while driving business development.
Supporting multiple projects, ensuring quality deliverables, and meeting deadlines.
Engaging with stakeholders, including subcontractors, regulatory agents, landowners, Indigenous communities, and clients.
Building strong collaborations across ERM's global network of sustainability experts.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Ecology or related field.
3-5 years of environmental consulting experience.
Expertise in environmental assessments and biodiversity regulations (experience with NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 is highly regarded).
Skills in flora and plant community type identification are advantageous.
GIS proficiency (advanced skills are a plus).
Experience with biodiversity offsets and Federal/State survey methodologies.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork are essential.
