Great Hybrid WFH Policy.Principal Environmental Scientist / Ecologist to spearhead the Environmental Consulting division of this Landscape and Green Spaces Maintenance Company.
The goal is to help it become its own business unit (currently 2 junior Ecologists on hand), priming it for growth and helping establish this consultancy as a go-to vegetation and land remediation ecologist in the NSW development and state government space.
This role is ideal for an Ecologist who also loves the business side of the job, enjoys driving business growth & wants to push their career to being a Partner in the business.
The Role: Provide planning advice on environmental matters to developers and government stakeholders during the pre-DA, DA submission, and construction phases of a project's life cycle.Manage the delivery of VPM outcomes on live sites, including leading a team of site staff (there will be a lead ecologist assigned to each project who will manage the day-to-day tasks. However, you will oversee the works and be responsible for project outcomes and reporting).Large volumes of work already secured (Large 1500 lot residential subdivisions).Work all Sydney based.Unique offering from: Pre DA through to the delivery of the asset to stakeholders at the end of the required project period.You have no requirements for BD in this role (unless you want it), they have a strong pipeline of works & it continues to come through the door through repeat business & word of mouth.Including: Conducting consistency assessments, what to do to meet DA.Aligning general terms of approval (GTA) with project documentation.Writing Vegetation Management Plans (VMPs).Project Managing.Undertaking BAM assessments (can facilitate BAM accreditation for the right candidate who has not yet undertaken this) – we have 5 VMPs to write, need to do the BAM on them. Have the projects in hand.Dam dewatering plans, Pre-strip clearing surveys, Soil translocation mapping, Hydrological mapping, GIS management.Based in the Hills District, this consultancy has seen phenomenal growth since its inception over the last 2-3 years and is now nearing a team of 30 staff.
