Developers/Programmers (Information & Communication Technology)The Role:This role is a key continuous improvement and application support role building out the best digital tools to support Auto and General's customers. You will take ownership of supporting and improving systems used by Auto and General's customer-facing teams.The role will be working in one of several cross-functional agile teams, supported by roles including tester, business analyst and product owner. All software is delivered via agile teams and deployed via a modern DevOps/CI pipeline to AWS.This role will be working within a large technology team, consisting of developers, testers and agile practitioners at Auto and General's fantastic location in Toowong.Accountabilities:Take ownership of the product, contribute improvement and innovation ideas.Work collaboratively within a cross functional Agile team, contributing to support, deployment, and development activities.Leverage your experience to lead solution designs and development of the architecture.Establish and own best practice testing across unit, integration and end to end tests.Perform other reasonable and relevant activities as requested from time to time to meet operational requirements.Knowledge and Experience:Essential:Extensive experience building, deploying, maintaining and supporting software applications.Expert knowledge of modern front-end and microservices architecture.Expert knowledge of NodeJS and Typescript.Experience with technical documentation, including high-level and low-level designs, UML diagrams, user guides and system documentation.Experience using and configuring application and system monitoring tools.Experience with Kubernetes, and AWS Developer Tools and ecosystem.Experience with APIs and GraphQL.Drive best practice of software application security standards for web applications (e.g., OWASP).Ability to work in the Atlassian suite of products. JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo.Ability to coach others and share expertise for the greater good of our people.Advantageous:Familiarity with other modern web frameworks such as React or Vue.Experience in or knowledge of GitLab DevOps Platform.A background in financial services applications is an advantage.Location – Our office is conveniently based in Toowong Village shopping centre - a city fringe location with access to retail, restaurants, various parking options and public transport.Extra leave – Enjoy additional leave days on us!
