Landmark cultural projectsLong term tenure paying $1,100 per dayMultiple ongoing projects Our client is a well known tertiary education institution who are embarking on a long term multi-million dollar new build and refurbishment program across their diverse portfolio.
They are currently expanding their project delivery capability and they require the services of a Senior Design Consultant who can take responsibly for the design management and production of design documentation of multiple projects within their Design, Engineering and Planning division. The role includes contribution to the strategy, direction the development & management of process & management systems for improved service delivery to all divisions, customers & University stakeholders.
The responsibilities of this role will include: Project & Design Management - Lead, manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement planning strategies and architectural projects through concept, design development, and detailed design, through construction design management, to project completion and post-completion evaluation.
Strategy- Preparing feasibility studies and presentation material to support the University's strategies across space planning and management tasks, including decanting strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement - Ensure a high level of collaboration across and between the Design and Project teams, facilitating effective coordination of project work and the seamless delivery of outcomes at an organisational level.
Safety & Risk Management - Identify and manages organisational, cultural, financial, and operational risk that impacts the work area. Regularly review and update the Risk Register and Safety Action Plan as well as coordinating regular audits to further mitigate risk.
Reporting & Financial Management - Provide high-level advice on issues such as resourcing, budgeting, and strategic goals. Provide regular status reports and continual appraisal of projects in planning, as well as data for the quarterly board updates reporting on design status against pre-determined benchmarks. This role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency and autonomy while being a collaborative team player. The ideal candidate will be a proven self starter, extremely motivated with the ability to embrace project ownership.
You will hold tertiary qualifications in architecture or equivalent along with a proven track record as a Design Manager, Senior Architect or Senior Interior Designer. Experience in either mixed use, student accommodation or educational facilities will be viewed favourably.
