As a Senior Data Steward, you'll be responsible for supporting and executing on data management activities for your assigned Tribe, COE or program of work. By advancing data management standards you enable our customers to stay "a step ahead in life and business" and help the bank meet regulatory minimum standards for data.You bring expertise to the role and embrace innovation within your chapter and the tribe COE you are assigned. Interfacing closely with the business domain, Data Definition Owners, architects, delivery squads and Data Governance team, the Data Steward supports the Data Owner to fulfil data governance requirements, be accountable for data integrity and data quality, and be an active advocate for strong data management.The role is a key pillar within the CDO function, enabling the execution of the Bank's data governance framework, to ensure sustainable data management practices leading to well-defined, consistent, and high-quality data that aligns to our purpose of helping our customers and our employees get ahead in life and in business.What you'll doResponsible for the providing guidance and support to ensure data management controls are defined, captured, and incorporated.Manage the creation and proper definition of business terms (by providing adequate support) for the assets owned by Tribes and COEs.Educate data owners on business terms intent and use.Ensure data is properly classified, protected and privacy standards are met.Conduct relevant governance forums to ensure data quality and integrity controls are built as per requirements.Work effectively within the Agile delivery environment, seamlessly connecting business stakeholders, team members and IT delivery resources.Facilitate business sign-off for data management activities as per design principles and standards.Provide relevant guidance to the Tribes on internal or external audits on data risk.What we're looking forExperience with the tools to support data governance and data management (metadata management, master data management, data lineage, data quality, etc.).Experience managing and mentoring high performing teams.Strong data analysis and manipulation skills including excellent knowledge of SQL.Understanding of key regulations impacting data risk management (e.g. BCBS 239, CPG 235, GDPR). Banking or financial services preferred.Understanding of data architecture, Data (ETL) processes, data modelling, data analytics and/or visualisation.Demonstrated ability to deliver results for the business through a combination of strong interpersonal and technical skills.Good to have exposure in Power BI, Tableau, DWH concepts, Python.What's in it for youDiscounted ING Health Insurance.An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing.This role is NSW based.
