As a Senior Data Scientist, you will collaborate with stakeholders to integrate AI solutions, apply advanced data analytics, and drive the development and deployment of machine learning systems to enhance business outcomes and customer engagement.
We are looking for someone adaptable to work within dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional collaborative teams and you are excited by taking on exciting new challenges within the AI space.
Your day in the life of a Data Scientist at Optus: Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate AI solutions and technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), machine learning (ML) and deep learning into existing systems to drive business objectives  You enjoy being hands-on and are excited to apply your data science knowledge to uncover insights and develop meaningful and driven outcomes for clients  Support the assessment, development, build and test of new use cases to meet the AI Strategy objectives in an agile environment and across agile and non-agile teams  Deliver use cases, utilise appropriate sophisticated techniques and contextualise these into end-to-end pipelines  Assist with identifying and developing new and emerging trends, work with suppliers and 3rd parties to develop new and innovative approaches to business problems  Engage with business teams across Customer Engagement, Service, Marketing and Analytics to clearly define the business problem, articulate approach, process, assumptions and pathways to drive efficient solutions adoption  Strong curiosity with the ability to bring different approaches and new perspectives to solving problems  Your skills to pay the bills: Demonstrate proficiency in harnessing AI tools and platforms to develop scalable solutions for complex challenges.
Strong experience in advanced data analytics or machine learning / AI / Statistics or STEM   Experience in building large scale, end-to-end machine learning systems using a combination of big data tools and programming languages like R, Spark/Scala, Java and/or Python   Proven implementation of machine learning algorithms such as SVM, decision trees, logistic regression, clustering, neural networks, graph models to solve real world business problems  Exposure to marketing, automation and digital platforms and systems such as PEGA, Salesforce or AEM in B2B environments  Perks we love at Optus: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote – with flexible hours to suit!
