About the role:
As the Senior Data Scientist, you will help solve complex, tangible business problems by delivering data science use cases to the organisation. Predominantly working with EnergyAustralia's Customer/Digital business units you will identify, understand and evaluate where data science and machine learning techniques can be used to provide solutions at the enterprise level. Additional responsibilities include:
Collaborate on end-to-end processes from identifying potential data-driven opportunities to executing data models that solve complex business problems, working with both technical & non-technical stakeholders. Work across the full data science lifecycle including ideation, hypothesis development through to developing and deploying data products/POCs. Collaborate with IT and data/software development teams to enhance the data infrastructure that supports advanced analytics and machine learning operations. Engage with business and contribute to solutions that encompass Advanced Analytics using Machine Learning, Natural Language processing, Real-time decisioning, Channel Analytics and Guided Actions. Mentor junior data professionals, share knowledge through workshops and seminars, and contribute to the ongoing learning and continuous development of the data teams & wider business. About the person:
You have a genuine curiosity and passion for data, and how it can be used to solve real-world problems. You will have technical expertise, and the communication style needed to translate this to various stakeholders as solutions to their business needs. Additionally, you will have some of the following:
Ph.D. or Master's Degree in a technical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or similar professional experience. Understanding and proven experience of end-to-end production-based machine learning pipeline, including data preparation, model building, and deploying models into production using MLOps practices. Programming skills, and strong experience in data science tools and technologies – Python is our Lingua Franca. Skilled in cloud technologies, with practical experience in platforms like Databricks (or Spark), AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform. A foundation in statistical modelling and advanced mathematical concepts, with the ability to apply these in a variety of data science contexts. Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with Customer, Digital and/or Marketing analytics (highly desirable). How to Apply:
