Talent Insights is currently on the lookout for a Senior Data Engineer to join one of Australia's largest government agencies on a 12 month contract to work within a Greenfield, DevOps environment.
For this role you must be an Australian Citizen and can be located in Perth, Western Australia .
In this role as a Senior Engineer you will lead the project stream of the Data warehouse platform. This includes updating data development documentation, providing technical guidance to developers, and reviewing/approving data designs and data models.
Main duties include but are not limited to: Provide technical leadership to the project delivery team through design reviews, advising on implementation best practices, defining and refining release process and technical workshops. Facilitate continuous improvement measures in delivery principles, coding standards, and documentation. Development and maintenance of SQL analytics and ETL code. Optimisation and tuning of SQL code. Work within a Greenfield DevOps environment. Technical skills: 4+ years experience in a Data Engineering type role. Experience in 2 out of the 5 DW listed - MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks. SAS (Base, EG) or SQL, or Python, R or Java (preferred). DevOps - Ability to understand DevOps process, can use DevOps tools. Ability to read and interpret data models and specifications.
