About the roleWe are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Corporate IT team.
Base in our Brisbane office, this role will be key in helping to get the right 'data delivery' from the onset for all Digital initiatives across LOR business.
Key responsibilities You will join as a Senior Data Engineer within the group's Data & Analytics function in the Australian hub, accountable for delivering technical functionality developed against the Global Data Platform and existing warehouse platforms.Creating and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalabilityBuilding the infrastructure and data products required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product and Data teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.Keeping internal data separated and secure across national boundaries through well architected sensitive data patterns and later enhancements to include regions in Azure.Design, develop and implement informative visualizations that enable the business to make informed decisions.Working with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems About you Advanced SQL knowledge, working with relational databases, query authoring and performance tuning.Strong analytical skills and experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questionsPrimary experience with Microsoft cloud services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse database, Azure Databricks Highly regarded experience: Databricks Workflows, Unity Catalog, PySpark Notebooks Knowledge of development in Kimbal methodologyExperience in APIs and API ManagementExperience with Microsoft BI tools: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI BenefitsWe work hard to create an environment that brings out the best in our people.
