Position Overview:
Ampersand are seeking a Data Engineer with strong experience in ETL/ELT pipelines, Azure Databricks, Python, and SQL. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be deeply involved in hands-on data engineering while also guiding the architecture and design of solutions. You'll contribute to shaping our data strategy by applying your engineering skills and mentoring the team in building and enhancing our data platform and ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities: Seeking someone excellent with ETL/ELT Pipelines, SQL, Python, Azure Databricks; other knowledge of cloud such as AWS or GCP is valued. Ensure that data engineering solutions are built in alignment with established data architecture and design components. Manage data pipelines, overseeing the flow of data from sources to integration and consumption for specific use cases, while architecting, creating, and maintaining these pipelines. Advocate for Data Management Best Practices, including Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, Data Quality, Data Lineage, and Data Operations. Conduct root cause analysis on both internal and external data and processes to address specific business inquiries and uncover opportunities for improvement. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Minimum of 5 years experience in Data Engineering roles. Experience in using Modern Data Platforms (Databricks, Snowflake etc) along with Python. Experience optimising data processes on both legacy systems and cloud data platforms.
