PRIMARY DETAILExciting opportunity for a Senior Data and Integration specialist, to contribute to the successful delivery of the University's IT program of work, driving forward its Digital Transformation initiatives. This role involves configuring and developing integration solutions using MuleSoft, Airflow, and other technologies to enhance student support and administration.• Salary package negotiable for the right candidate, with a guide range between $119,056 and $132,475 (HEW Level 8), plus 17% employer superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.• Appointment Type: Full-time Fixed Term role for 2 years.• Location: Macquarie University, North Ryde.• Hybrid working arrangement.The RoleMacquarie University is embarking on a significant Digital Transformation, replacing its outdated Sugar CRM (Tracker) with the Salesforce Education Cloud suite. At the heart of this transformation is the Student 360 Foundation Project (S360F), a pivotal initiative to establish a unified platform for student support and administration. The project, launching in September 2024, aims to provide a seamless, 360-degree view of each student, enabling personalised, data-driven engagement throughout their lifecycle.The S360F project will streamline service delivery by integrating multiple systems with Salesforce, improving the efficiency of service requests and knowledge management. The foundation for future capabilities will be established through Salesforce Education Cloud, MuleSoft, and AWS Connect, while legacy systems will be phased out.As part of this transformation, Macquarie University is seeking a Senior Data and Integration Specialist who will provide expert support in the system implementation, integration, and long-term management of the new CRM platform.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Product Owner (CRM), the Senior Data and Integration Specialist will:System Configuration: Configure and customise connectors, workflows, and APIs within MuleSoft, Airflow, and Kafka to meet business needs.API Development: Develop, test, and maintain APIs for seamless data exchange between systems like Snowflake, focusing on MuleSoft, Airflow, Appflow, and Kafka for integration.Data Warehousing: Use Apache Airflow and Snowflake (preferred) to build scalable, reliable data pipelines, including using DBT to transform data in the Snowflake warehouse.Integration Support: Provide ongoing support for integration platforms such as Airflow and MuleSoft (CloudHub and Flex Gateway). This includes monitoring, troubleshooting, enhancing features, and optimizing performance.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional IT support teams to resolve incidents and troubleshoot system issues.User Support: Provide day-to-day support for business users, troubleshooting issues, and delivering timely solutions.Performance Optimisation: Monitor and optimize the performance of integration solutions, ensuring scalability and high availability.Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business needs into technical specifications.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest features and best practices for MuleSoft, Airflow, Appflow, and Kafka, and recommend system enhancements.Project Delivery: Design and develop integration solutions for the Student 360 project, including APIs, batch processing, and event-driven services. Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders for successful implementation.About YouYou are an experienced IT professional and subject matter expert in system integration and data warehouse engineering.Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience: At least 6 years of total experience in integration development, with at least 1 year of specific expertise in MuleSoft (Cloud Hub and Flex Gateway) and 2 years+ experience in using four or more of the following: Apache Airflow, FastAPI, Kafka, Kubernetes, container technology, AWS Appflow, and CI/CD.Technical Skills: Proficient in Python and SQL.Integration Knowledge: Strong understanding of integration patterns such as batch processing, event-driven, API, Pub/Sub, along with knowledge of the advantages and limitations of different technologies in various contexts.Data Warehouse Expertise: Solid understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Engineering technologies, including DBT and Snowflake.Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with the Salesforce platform and AWS services.Person Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
