The role Your role sits within Data Office and supports UniSuper doing this by: Providing expertise and guidance on all things data analysis - assisting our stakeholders to meet their objectives by enabling trustworthy, valuable, and easily consumable data and insights.
Supporting the business to make better decisions through reporting, self-service data access and analysis.

As a Senior data analyst, you will be playing a crucial role in delivering insights & Analytics outcomes using the Enterprise Data Platform alongside Data Modellers and Data Engineers to build PowerBI reporting capabilities for UniSuper's Enterprise Release projects.
In addition to this you will: Understand, evaluate and translate business needs to data/technical needs through proactive discussions with Business SMEs and stakeholders.
Triage and prioritise data requests effectively based on policies & processes and manage stakeholder expectations accordingly.
Work with Data Modelling and Data Engineering team to build relationships between data sets and different data sources Design and build reports, visualisations and dashboards in PowerBI with the target audience in mind.
Work with Data Modelling and Data Engineering team to develop complex datasets and models on databricks.
Identify opportunities to improve and enhance BI processes, practices and self-service.
Creating dynamic on-demand and bespoke analyses, models, reports and dashboards that are digestible and easily understood by all relevant stakeholders.
Enabling Business Unit(s) to deliver on their core business and priorities by leveraging data outputs and telling stories through data.
Training, coaching and creating learning opportunities to share knowledge and experiences within the Insights and wider Data Office teams.
Document report definitions, metric definitions and business processes clearly for future reference.
Promoting data literacy and a data culture during interactions with stakeholders at all levels.
About you As a Senior Data Analyst we are looking for a dedicated professional who embodies our values and behavioural expectations.
In this role, you will engage with Business SMEs and stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into data and technical requirements.
You will prioritize data requests, manage stakeholder expectations, and collaborate with the Data Modelling and Data Engineering teams to build relationships between data sets and sources.
In addition to this you will have experience in: Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Senior Data Analyst or a similar role in a mature Data Warehouse environment with exposure to SQL, Python.
Proven commercial experience with PowerBI development work and PowerBI deployment pipelines.
Experience working with cloud native platforms like Azure (Desired) and Databricks.
Advanced level in Business Intelligence – Developing, producing and delivering management information to provide insights and aid decision-making.
Advanced level in Data Visualisation – Facilitating understanding of data by displaying concepts, ideas, and facts using graphical representations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Advanced level in Understanding Needs & Insights - Translating and communicating data outputs in an intuitive and insightful way to help BUs make data-driven decisions.
