The Project The project is in the Defence sector on sites located in regional Western Australia.
The overall project is more than 2 years in duration, involving significant construction upgrades to airfield asphalt pavements and related infrastructure assets.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, we are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager to oversee the financial performance of a large-scale remote construction project.
You will be responsible for budget control, budget preparation and budget changes, end of month reporting, preparation of month-end financial reports, month-end accruals, management of key subcontractor payment claims, commercial management of asphalt works, preparation of client progress claims including escalation analysis, and review of earned value analysis of work packages.
The ideal candidate will have a background in civil engineering, subcontract works, and self-delivery works on large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Proven experience as a Senior Cost Manager, ideally on a large-scale construction project.
15 years' experience.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Possess strong mathematical and computer skills, proficient with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to recognise discrepancies.
A pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities.
Strong knowledge of cost management principles, estimating, and budgeting processes.
Proficiency in cost management software and tools (Power BI, Excel, and bespoke packages).
Excellent analytical, financial forecasting, and reporting skills.
Strong stakeholder management with the ability to lead discussions on project costs.
Experience in Defence and airfield project delivery is highly regarded.
Ability to meet Department of Defence security clearance requirements (DCAC).
