Your opportunity: The role is for a senior commercial lawyer to join the TPG legal department supporting TPG group's Privacy function. However, the role may require you to undertake work within any team of TPG's legal department from time to time.
As our valued Senior Corporate Counsel - Privacy, you will play a vital role within the TPG legal team. You will be tasked with providing strategic advice and risk analysis in relation to privacy and data security management. This will involve balancing business opportunities and projects with associated legal and compliance risks in a complex and fast-evolving regulatory environment. You'll draw on your expertise in privacy law, data protection, compliance and risk management to effectively implement privacy policies and best practices across the organisation.
You'll make impact by: Advising on compliance with privacy and data protection laws as well as legal and regulatory aspects of data collection, use, disclosure and storage.Providing privacy and data retention analysis and advice in relation to a wide range of data-related issues.Conducting privacy impact assessments for TPG projects and products, advising on new initiatives that have a potential privacy impact and working closely with TPG's Product teams to maintain TPG's portfolio of services and roll out new service offerings.Reviewing, drafting and negotiating privacy and data security terms in contracts with business partners and suppliers.Assisting with TPG's response to privacy incidents and data breaches, as well as data breach preparedness.Assisting with the development of TPG's privacy management plan and policies.Assisting with the development of privacy training materials and communications to increase employee awareness of privacy.Delivering pragmatic customer focused solutions to achieve desired business outcomes.Building effective relationships and positively influencing TPG and key TPG stakeholders by acting in a manner closely aligned to TPG's values.What you'll bring: Legally qualified (holds a current practicing certificate or equivalent)Minimum experience 6 years PQE.Strong experience in handling privacy and data security issues and knowledge of Australian privacy legislationExcellent communication skills and an independent thinkerExcellent interpersonal skills with a commercial and pragmatic approachAbility to adapt to a fast paced and dynamic work environmentWhat's in it for you?
