About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel for a 12-month maternity leave cover. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be a team player who can work both independently and collaboratively, and possess strong organizational and time management abilities. They must be a self-starter with a positive, adaptable attitude and a willingness to learn.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be directly responsible for managing legal matters and tasks for ANL and CMA CGM subsidiary companies in Oceania, including:
Managing designated and/or tasked legal claims, corporate and compliance requirements.
Overseeing corporate governance and reporting requirements.
Providing quality, timely solution-based legal advice to the General Counsel and middle / senior managers to support Group shipping, logistics operations and agency functions.
Offering legal advice and support to other CMA CGM Group legal teams onissues involving Oceania.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Possession of tertiary qualification in law from a recognised tertiary institution.
Hold a current Australian Practicing Certificate.
At least 6 years post qualification experience ("PQE") either in private practice or an established in-house legal department preferably within a national or multinational company.
Experience in corporate and commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and conciliation.
Knowledge and understanding in relevant areas of law, such as corporate, competition and privacy laws.
Experience working on complex legal matters within a fast-paced commercial environment.
Candidates must have full working rights in Australia for the entire duration of the contract to be considered eligible for this role.
