Senior Coordinator, Monographs & Digital Collections is responsible for acquisition, metadata management, and creation and maintenance of access for resources.
The role supports teaching, learning and research at RMIT University.
The position is responsible for 6 employees who acquire and process electronic and print one-time purchases, including subscription textbooks.
The successful applicant will display a high degree of technical knowledge, including analytical skills for collection acquisition and access.
A high degree of knowledge of the Alma library management system will also be required to support sound decision-making for 2025 projects.
Understanding types of electronic purchasing, and implications of decisions on acquisitions workflows, will be favourably considered.
To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum: Experience in a library acquisitions, metadata or digitisation environment, good understanding of current and emerging practices in this area, particularly in the management and acquisition of eBooks and digital objectsHigh degree of technical knowledge, including analytical skills, for collection acquisition and accessProven record of innovation, commitment to continual improvement and strong problem-solving skillsExperience with a large Library Service Platform along with project management experienceDemonstrated commercial acumen and experience in maintaining effective vendor relationships and sound negotiation skillsDemonstrated ability to lead a team, inspire staff development, drive performance and successfully lead a teamDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively and through positive influenceDemonstrated focus on customer service resulting in the delivery of excellent customer outcomesPlease Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
