We are looking for someone who possesses a strong commercial acumen and is able to lead and mentor junior members of the team.Your key tasks will include (but not limited to):Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projectsConduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation's conditions relating to contracts for prospective projectsManage and drive the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required time frame and budgetMaintain a register of subcontractorsMinimise all subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possibleOperate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Project Pack Web (PPW), MARS, Workday, Commercial Pack database and Contract SumEnsure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keep project management teams abreast of any costs issues immediately upon identificationInterpret specifications and drawings so as to understand scope of works for the project at Head Contract and Sub Contract scope levelParticipate in identification and quantification of Head ContractsManage subcontractors to ensure that Code compliance is maintained at all timesPreparation of variation, claims or letters for Head Contract management for allocated Project or projectsPrepare Forecast sheets for projects and assist Project team with Cost Review and reportingMonthly Progress claim reviews and submissionsAssess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identify and implement controlsCheck compliance and prepare reporting on commercial performance of the contractProcess and recommend progress claims for work completed and refer disputed claims by subcontractors to the relevant manager for decisionAny other adhoc duties assigned by Commercial ManagerTo be successful in this role, you will have the following:It is desirable to have a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalentPrevious experience in a Senior Contracts Administrator role within the Construction or Engineering industryIntermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)Experience with a variety of project values and complexityUnderstanding of document control experience in accordance with records management proceduresInterpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project to prevent potential business exposureExperience in negotiating with sub-contractorsWhat's in it for you when you join John Holland?We're about connecting your sense of purpose to ours.
