We are proud to be partnered with an established and expanding Australian gas producer to source an experienced Senior Contract & Procurement Adviser.
This role will formally report to the Executive Director and work closely with a diverse group of other team members, such as the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Manager, General Counsel etc.
This position is part of the finance team and is responsible for all procurement, contracting, and logistics related to the company's projects. This includes strategy, contracts, procurement, and expediting activities, ensuring they are conducted safely and cost-effectively, in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Contract & Procurement Adviser include though are not limited to: Contracts (e.g. Drilling and Workovers, fracture simulation, construction and other gas field related services) Facilitate the purchasing of goods and services as required to support the Company; Conduct supplier background checks, sourcing negotiations and establish major supply contact; Facilitate supplier onboarding and generate purchase orders; Reviewing deliverables against contractor terms and conditions as per agreements; Report on contractor performance; Review processes and coordinate or apply changes to meet the project needs and to reflect Corporate requirements; Lead overall integrated contracting strategy compilation and stakeholder familiarisation; Execute and management of contracts; Lead commercial negotiations for contracts and procurement; Ability to dispute when issues are identified; and Develop detailed KPIs to ensure continuous improvement of contract delivery, costs and Procurement (e.g. Drilling materials Surface facilities, pipelines and other equipment) Develop and implement procurement tendering strategy in accordance with policies and procedures; Manage procurement process in relation to vendor prequalification process, Requests for Quotation (RFQ) activity, price negotiation, purchase order generation, transmittal and tracking of purchase orders, expediting, supplier performance reviews; Manage the process planning of procurement, logistics and distribution; Responsible for all the procurement activities and providing operational support to the business which includes identifying suitable vendors, obtaining quotes, generating and placing purchase orders, expediting goods and services and maintaining all records; Maintain effective relationships and ongoing communication with all stakeholders including contractors, commercial partners and departments; Mitigating risks to activities where goods will not be delivered on time or in full whilst notifying relevant parties with updates on progress; Expediting all purchase orders to ensure delivery of goods in line with agreed delivery dates; Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements and to improve the performance of suppliers where possible; and Develop and maintain contractor and procurement database Logistics Materials and logistics organisation and readiness for all Operations Project Execution activities – ensure the right materials are available at the right time and right place under the direction of primary stakeholders (Construction Supervisors and Project Engineers) Skills & Experience of the Senior Contract & Procurement Adviser
To be successful in this position you will have worked in a Contract and Procurement position within the oil and gas sector and have a sound base and developing knowledge and experience. Specifically this will ensure Proven contract management skills and strong negotiation skills and knowledge of strategic procurement principles, practices and supplier management for oil and gas industries;
You will be self motivated to succeed and able to identify and deliver on goals and initiatives, though be equally skilled working within an established team. In addition to this you have highly adapted professional communication and interpersonal skill that will enable effective communication across all levels of an organization including external bodies and partners.
