This position provides support to newly awarded projects at the project launch stage. Reporting to the Commercial Manager (pre-contracts), you will work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver required commercial outcomes.The primary purpose of this position is to pro-actively support commercial and project launch teams with all the relevant contract administration and pre-contract preparation tasks and activities. You will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that compliance and commercial needs are met.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesUnderstand all commercial aspects of construction contracts and identify areas of financial riskCost control managementProcurement of subcontractors and negotiation of commercial terms in accordance with company protocolsAssess and manage subcontractor claims, invoices and variationsPreparation and submission of head contract progress claimsPrepare monthly cost reporting and forecastingAssist in preparation of monthly commercial reportLiaise with the Project Manager and wider project team to ensure commercial risks are mitigatedSupport the preparation, review and response to contractual correspondenceMaintain all necessary registers, contractual documentation and templatesKnowledge, Skills and AttributesDemonstrated experience as a Contracts Administrator, working in the construction and engineering industry including building construction, infrastructure and rail (preferred, but not essential)Tertiary qualifications in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction ManagementExperience in all stages of the subcontract management, including preparation of the scope of works, procurement, project launch and close outSite-based engineering or construction experienceAbility to work independently against deadlines, but also work as part of the teamStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholdersExcellent attention to detail
