Senior Contract AdministratorAbout The ProjectSnowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway.
Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
It is one of the largest hydropower projects in the world and the largest currently in Australia.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for providing guidance to the contract administration team whilst actively managing key subcontracts in connection with the M&E scope at the heart of the Snowy 2.0 project, working closely with other procurement, commercial, logistics and field services team members, both Onshore and Onsite.
This role will suit a hands-on operator and effective communicator who is passionate about the renewable sector here in Australia.
What You'll be DoingProvide oversight and guidance to the subcontract administration team, ensuring that all subcontracts agreements are meticulously administered in line with the stipulations and provisions outlined in the subcontract agreements.
This includes correspondence, variations, claims, and payments;Develop an expert knowledge of the head contract to enable proper management of subcontracts and protecting the financial interests of the project;Create and manage supplier and subcontractor tender packages in collaboration with the procurement team;Assist with and advise on preparation of the subcontractor tender packages;Analyse, compare & clarify offers received and conduct negotiations with subcontractors to achieve value for money / effective management of cost;Close out commercial qualifications & prepare recommendations for award and obtain approval per limits of authority;Prepare subcontractor agreements;Advise team members on interpretation and application of subcontract terms;Ensure rigorous compliance with all contractual obligations and verify that subcontractors and suppliers fulfill their respective commitments;Ensure that all records are methodically archived in line with procedures as the project progresses;Prepare and/or coordinate reports, as required;Participate in cash flow forecasts for assigned contracts;Process progress claims for work completed, monitor receipt of payment and refer disputed claims by subcontractors to the Subcontractor Manager for decision;Management of subcontractor claims, extension of times and variations;Co-ordinate assessment of variations, extensions of time and other contractual claims for subcontracts & ensure all notices are communicated to the Contracts Manager for assessment if any head contract impact;What You'll Bring to the TableAt least 10 years of experience in contract administrationBachelors Degree in Finance/Administration/Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Law or other relevant fieldSound business acumen and solid background in tendering, financial management and contract administration and interpretation;Experienced in claims and dispute resolution including leading negotiations;Proven leadership, negotiating and lateral thinking skills;Financial management – demonstrable behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets;Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;Computer proficient, SAP experience an advantage;If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or email it directly to ******.
