In these situations, expert advice underpinned by an in-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is crucial.BDO Australia has one of the largest technical accounting divisions in the country, with a number of its team members also forming part of BDO International's global IFRS team. As a member of the Global Public Policy Committee and via our extensive global network, BDO is at the forefront of IFRS reporting and implementation.The purpose of this role is to assist the IFRS Advisory team in Sydney to provide a range of technical, financial and corporate reporting advice and value to clients, particularly in the provision of BDO Lead-related services. It will allow exposure to IFRS and to evolve mandatory sustainability reporting standards.Additionally, you will be required to assist with CFO advisory work, which includes assisting with finance function advisory services and transformation projects including process improvement, finance/ERP system selection and improvement, finance team structure reviews and financial governance.This role offers a great variety of work, autonomy, client contact and direct Partner/Manager interaction and coaching.Duties and responsibilities:Collect, analyse, and process data to support BDO's lease management service offering to clients.Work alongside senior IFRS & ISSB Advisory team members to collect, interpret and provide input into the development of technical accounting solutions that support client delivery and risk management teams within BDO's Sydney office.Work alongside senior team members to assist with the growth of the IFRS and ISSB Advisory team, particularly in relation to the provision of BDO Lead-related products and services and finance function advisory services.Assisting the CFO Advisory team with finance function advisory services and transformation projects including process improvement, finance/ERP system selection and improvement, finance team structure reviews and financial governance.Preparation and/or development of financial, management and project reporting (including general purpose financial statements and mandatory sustainability reports).Establishment of a new entity's finance and corporate functions.About youUp-to-date and strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Australian Accounting Standards, including IFRS 16.Exposure to sustainability reporting frameworks advantageous.Demonstrated experience in analysing accounting issues and developing innovative and commercial solutions for internal and external clients.Experience in a similar role, or in a similar consulting and/or financial operations role.A passion and enthusiasm for accounting and finance function matters.Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.High level of attention to detail.A strong willingness to learn.Completion of relevant degree, preferably accounting.CA qualification in progress (or completed).Why BDO?Working for BDO you will be part of a growing and market leading professional services firm.
