Salary Range: AUD 108,571 - 119,893 (Annual Gross)Please Note: The above salary range is only indicative and may be subject to suitable enhancements, based on internal company processes.
Short Description: We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to join our development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications, ensuring high performance and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our business needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Implement microservices architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend applications and third-party services.
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and refine requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner.
Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to best practices.
Skills / Competencies:
Essential:
Proven experience as a Backend Developer with a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
Proficiency in Java programming, including Java 8+ features and libraries.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related frameworks (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.).
Knowledge of microservices architecture and patterns, including API gateway, service discovery, and distributed systems.
Familiarity with AKKA Serverless architecture.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline.
Preferred:
Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger.
Knowledge of message brokers and event streaming platforms like Kafka.
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
