Our Compliance &Enforcement Branch is currently seeking multiple skilled andexperienced Senior Compliance Inspectors to undertake operationsrelating to the regulation of the tobacco and vaping industry inSouth Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to be at theforefront of a new body of work where your skills as an inspectorwill be tested and developed.
As a Senior Compliance Inspector, you will be tasked withconducting inspections, providing guidance, and offeringeducational assistance to licensees, traders, and consumers. Youwill also work closely with other government agencies andstakeholders in the conduct of your inspections and jointoperations which will require advanced problem-solving skills. Youwill also be responsible for the collection, handling, processingand storing of evidence critical to investigations. A large part ofthe role involves field work, ensuring that compliance is achievedand maintained.
Key responsibilities: Conduct inspections at assigned premises to assesscompliance with relevant legislation and orders. In accordance with relevant legislation and policies andprocedures issue notices, expiations or take other complianceand enforcement action to address legislative breaches. Ensure the appropriate handling, transportation, storageand destruction of evidence in accordance with relevantprocedures. Contribute to investigative activities including conductinginterviews, reviewing documents and collecting evidence. Lead taskforce operations, including with law enforcementagencies. Prepare reports in relation to trends or persistentnon-compliance. Represent CBS in court matters and provide witnesstestimony We want to hear from you if you have: Significant experience undertaking complianceactivities. Significant experience in gathering, handling and storingevidence. Experience in interpretation and administration oflegislation. Comprehensive knowledge of investigation and inspectiontechniques and demonstrated experience in a legislative orregulatory environment. A strong ability to work under limited direction and useinitiative and judgement where procedures are not clearlydefined. Strong written communication skills in a regulatoryenvironment including preparing reports, witness statements andcourt briefs. Experience or tertiary qualifications in a relevantdiscipline e.g., government investigations, law, accounting orcommerce. (desirable) CBS is seeking to establish a pool of experienced,high-performing and motivated individuals through this process.Successful candidates will be placed in a pool for a period of 12months and may be considered for term positions as they arisewithin the agency.

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence(equivalent to minimum class C)
 May be required to work according to a 7-day rosterincluding weekends and?publicholidays.?
Eligible to be appointed and exercise the powers and functionsof an Authorised Officer or Inspector under relevantlegislation.
