About theRole: Thepurpose of the System Performance Division is to leverage data as astrategic asset to improve educational outcomes. We do this byeffectively curating, managing, and analysing data, providingadvice and insight to support evidence-informed practices, andfostering a data literate culture.
SystemPerformance is responsible for providing data analytics andbusiness intelligence services to the Department for Education, andleads data governance.
The DataOperations and Service directorate is responsible for ingesting,storing, organizing, and managing data held in theDepartment's data warehouses/repositories. It is the engineroom of System Performance, ensuring that data is clean, highquality, usable and available. The team is also responsible forliaising with customers to assess and prioritise theirrequirements, and leading data governance operations for theDepartment. Data Operations and Service manages the full range ofdata life cycle functions, including business analysis, dataengineering, product development, and testing.
TheSenior Test Analyst is responsible for end to end delivery ofspecialised testing of data products that facilitate theachievement of the Department's strategic information goalsand objectives. The position supports the development of theagency's reporting and data capability by formulating a teststrategy to ensure a high quality outcome for thecustomer.
Qualifications: Essential: Certification in ISTQB Tester Foundation/ISTQB Agile.
Desirable: A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Data Science orrelated field and training or certification in Microsoft Azure orMicrosoft Azure Data Fundamentals. Special Conditions: Thesuccessful applicant is required to gain a Department for HumanServices (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to beingemployed which is required to be renewed every five years beforeexpiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC(Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care)Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online(Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated everythree years.
