Electoral Commission SA (ECSA) has an exciting opportunity for aSenior Communications Officer to join the team and help deliverdemocracy for South Australians. The Senior Communications Officer will managethe day-to-day internal and external communications activitieswhich, amongst other things, will aim to increase public awarenessof electoral matters and encourage electoral engagement, enrolment,and participation. A key focus will be on communications andengagement activities for under-represented community sectors suchas youth, Indigenous, CALD, people experiencing homelessness andpeople living with disability. ECSA is looking for a motivated, dynamic, innovative, andprofessional communicator with initiative to take ownership of thisrole and make it their own. You will be reporting to the Manager Communications andEngagement, with specific key responsibilities including: Delivering high-quality, effective and professionalcommunications plans, content and materials to change behaviourand support the achievement of agency objectives. Coordinating and supporting the development andimplementation of communications and campaign products. Providing a high-level contribution to the design anddelivery of a state-wide advertising campaign. Preparing accurate and engaging written publicationsincluding reports, brochures, fact sheets and corporatepublications. Providing expert advice on the use of audience appropriatecontent and language across ECSA publications and products,including the use of plain language and Easy English, andmanaging contributors, external suppliers and otherstakeholders to ensure that products are delivered to a highstandard, on schedule and to brief. Managing ECSA's social media channels, identifyingpositive social media opportunities and developing a proactiveschedule of engaging and relevant content. Researching and advising on best practice and trends inmedia (traditional and non-traditional), and developing,implementing and evaluating media policy frameworks andprocedures. Building networks and partnerships with other agencies andorganisations across South Australia to increase electoralawareness. Applications are encouraged from individuals with high levelcommunication skills, and ability to liaise effectively with peoplefrom diverse backgrounds and work under broad direction to achieveoutcomes. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementingcommunications plans, writing and producing high qualitypublication materials, and experience engaging with and buildingpositive relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgroundsare essential to this role. Special Conditions This role is offered on an ongoing basis. In order not to compromise the strict neutrality of theCommission, no person who is active in political affairs orintends to carry on this activity may be an employee. Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the Commission finds satisfactory. Extensive out of normal working hours duty may be requiredduring election events. Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
