This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative team working on a range of community-focussed strategic communications projects and supporting media and issues management.
The role: We have 2 x newly created roles of Senior Communications Advisor, reporting to either the Coordinator Media and Communications or the Coordinator Experience and Communications.
The Senior Communications Advisor will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing complex external and internal communications plans across all channels (including print, web, social media and email) Developing audience and channel strategies, which considers data and research and best practice methodologies.
Leading and advising on complex communications projects in collaboration with internal clients.
Providing an end-to-end communications service for teams, advising on complex issues and implementing solutions.
Contributing to collaborative, positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
Leading collaboration and production of content across all of Council's to help ensure a cohesive brand and high standards.
Devising strategies to develop Council's communications channels, including print and digital.
About you: To be considered for this position you will have experience working in a busy, issues-rich, community-focussed environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
Exceptional writing skills.
Highly experienced at developing and implementing purposeful and punchy content across social media, web and print channels.
The ability to identify key messages and distil complex information for different audiences and channels, including print, social media, EDMs, website and speeches.
Extensive experience in developing and implementing effective communications plans for complex and sensitive projects.
Desirable: Experience in media and issues management.
